  CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY and the HARLEM RENAISSANCE! What an amazing Black History Celebration we had this week!  The theme this year was The Harlem Renaissance!!  BFA HOSTS STAFF & TEACHER LUNCH Our Black Family Association "BFA" provided and served a delicious staff/teacher lunch of chicken and waffles (the birthplace of this yummy tradition was during the Harlem Renaissance)!!  Thank You to Chef Govind Armstrong, Father to Nesta & Sonika Armstong (2nd) and Warren Bell, Father to Abijah & Elijah Bell (3rd / Kinder) who made the most scrumptious Belgian waffles!!  Chef Govind how do we get your Amazing waffle recipe??!!   WINTER RAIN STORM UPDATE                   MONDAY, FEBRUARY 5th: School and after-school programs will be in session.                 Please stay tuned for updates. Dear Los Angeles Unified Family, In preparation for the storm that is expected to impact Southern California, the National Weather Service predicts a growing potential for many hours of moderate to heavy rainfall from Sunday through Tuesday with the storm peaking on Sunday night.  Winds are also expected which may cause downed power lines and impassable roads. Los Angeles Unified has engaged in several precautions to ensure the safety of students, families and employees.
