HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Dear Community Families,
Happy New Year! I hope you had a restful and joyful holiday season, filled with special moments with loved ones. As we begin our new year together, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued partnership and support.
The start of a new year is always a wonderful time to reflect on the growth and achievements we've made, as well as to look ahead to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. We are thrilled to continue working with our amazing students, staff, and families to make 2025 another year of success, learning, and community.
Together, we will continue to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every student can thrive. Whether through academic achievements, social-emotional growth, or personal milestones, we are committed to helping each child reach their full potential.
Thank you for your dedication and collaboration in helping us make Community Magnet CS such a special place for our students. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together in the coming months!
Wishing you all a healthy, happy, and successful New Year!
Best,
Toni

THANK YOU FROM GIRL SCOUT TROOP 3561
Girl Scout Troop 3561 wants to thank CMCS families for their generosity this holiday season! With the donations from this toy drive we made a substantial donation to the Children’s Lifesaving Fund’s Annual Project Angel Wings toy drive. With our gifts specifically, they were able to make a huge donation to several of their partners including Homeboy Industries and North Valley Caring Services. Below is a photo of some of our troop with the entire donation.
The CMCS Chronicle has been a big hit with the students at CMCS! Many students have expressed interest in submitting articles and stories to the Chronicle. If your child is interested in contributing to the newspaper, please email their grade and name and best contact information to robyn.edwards1013@gmail.com .
- Arrive at CMCS between 7:30 and 8:00
- Enter through the gate on the EAST side of the school.
- Drive along the left curb. The right curb is a bus lane whether or not the buses have arrived.
- Wait patiently in a single file line along the left curb of the driveway.
- When a valet volunteer or LAUSD staff directs you, turn right at the parking lot and pull up to the Valet Curb. There can be a maximum of 3 cars at the Valet Curb.
- Under no circumstances can you park with your child and walk them through the parking lot. If, especially during these first weeks of school, you want to walk your child to the front gate, you MUST drop your child at the Valet Curb and then park your car. Your child can wait for you near the valet volunteers on the bench by the Valet Curb.
- When you arrive at the Valet Curb, your child should be ready to exit the car from the passenger side of the vehicle. IF a passenger side exit from your vehicle is unavailable, your child must wait until a valet volunteer opens the driver side door and escorts them in front of your car onto the curb.
- Under no circumstances should the driver exit the vehicle.
- Do not pull around cars in the valet line including at the Valet Curb. The line is single file from the east gate entrance through to the west gate exit. Please wait your turn to drop off your child and to exit campus.
- FINALLY, be patient and kind. The valet volunteers and LAUSD staff are there for the safety of your children. Please treat them, the children, and the other drivers with respect.
