Observing Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day

Image
NO SCHOOL FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2026 Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day is observed on April 24th each year. It's a day when people remember and honor the Armenian people who suffered and died during a very sad time in history that began in 1915. Over 100 years ago, many Armenian families were forced to leave their homes, and more than a million people lost their lives. This happened in what is now the country of Turkey. On this day, Armenian communities around the world come together to: Remember those who were lost Share stories about their ancestors and keep their memory alive Celebrate Armenian culture, traditions, and resilience Learn from history so we can work toward a kinder, more peaceful world Many people light candles, attend memorial services, or visit monuments to show respect and remember. It's a solemn day, but it's also about hope—hope that by remembering the past, we can build a future where all people are treated with dignity and respect.

A heartfelt thank you to all CMCS teachers and staff for graciously welcoming families into your classrooms, staying flexible, and keeping everything running smoothly. And a special thank you to CFF and our parent volunteers for creating such fun, meaningful, community-building events—your dedication continues to make our school shine. As we head back to school, I hope everyone had the chance to rest and recharge over Spring Break. Parents, I hope the break offered moments of connection and joy with your children. Their energy is inspiring, but even they benefit from time to relax and reset before the busy weeks ahead. I stayed close to home during the break—enjoying a relaxing massage with my sister and keeping up with my Pilates classes (still going strong!). I also took care of a few of ...
