End of Year News
Dear CMCS Parents, Students, and Friends,
June 2020. Two weeks remaining in this school year. Here are things to know and remember:
· Collection/Distribution Schedule: I have emailed detailed instructions on how we will be collecting school property and distributing student belongings on June 8, 10, 11, and 12. You will receive a couple of reminders before then, so please check your email.
· Fifth Grade Culmination: Plans are in the works and the pre-recorded ceremony will be posted on June 9 at 4:00. Details will be coming from Kathryn and the Culmination Committee. Again, monitor your emails for updates and reminders.
· Enrollment: We are so excited to welcome our new families and new students to CMCS. Enrollment documents may be downloaded here and completed. Please return the documents by driving them to campus, Tuesday-Thursday, 9-12, from now through June, or sending through mail. Due to security and privacy concerns, we discourage sending these documents by email.
· Devices: We are encouraging students to keep devices through the summer whether or not they will be using them for summer school. The exception is for first and fifth grade students who need to return their devices on their scheduled collection/distribution time or, if using for summer school, as soon as summer school ends so that we may prepare them to be turned over for the new school year. If you’d rather turn in your device rather than keeping it through the summer, that’s fine. Please do so during your scheduled collection/distribution time.
o Broken devices: you may email me (trk2932@lausd.net) to arrange for a replacement device. However, you will need to pay the approximate $121 cost of repairing the broken device. If you have turned in a broken device, you will receive a bill soon.
o Inoperable devices: some devices seem to stop charging or working altogether. If this is the problem, you may email me (trk2932@lausd.net) to arrange for a temporary loaner device. I will send the device to LAUSD’s IT department for repair and will exchange it for the loaner once it has been repaired. There will be no charge. If you have turned in an inoperable device, you may email me to pick up your repaired device and return the loaner.
· CFF Elections: Don’t forget to vote this week. Please check your Fresh School emails for more information.
I hope you are able to enjoy the summer and look forward to a fresh new school year beginning on August 18, 2020.
Best,
Principal Toni
