Hello Community Families,

Can you believe we're down to the final three weeks of the 2020-21 school year!? There's a lot to be done in these last few days of school -  assessments, culmination, planning and prepping for the new school year, closing out the current year . . .

Despite how busy things are, it's wonderful to take a peek inside the CMCS classrooms. Students are working on amazing projects and everyone is busy at work. But I love catching the special moments when a teacher sparks and inspires learning and creative thinking in a student. It's just great to be back on campus!

I am looking forward to sharing it all with you in our "Open House" presentation coming soon. This will be your chance to get a glimpse into what CMCS campus life has been like since our reopening last month! Stay tuned!!

20th Commemoration of the Hitachi Kite Making Workshops

This past week, we celebrated the 20th commemoration of the Hitachi Kite Making workshops with Joanna  Metoki, programs manager at the Japan America Society of Southern California.  If you missed the presentation, you can catch it here.

The Toni Awards

This week's Toni Awards will be presented on Friday, May 28.  Please click here to attend the webinar at 8:15 a.m. to recognize our Students-of-the-Week and Staff Spotlights. The presentation will also be posted at communitymagnet.org, under the From the Principal tab and recorded for teachers to view with their students.

COVID WATCH

COVID testing will take place at CMCS every Tuesday conducted by AMI Health team. Once you have provided signed consent, your student is set to be tested every week. All LAUSD employees are also tested on site.

Through the on-site COVID testing last week, Tuesday, May 18, 2021, there were 0 identified positive results for COVID.

The daily health check questions are asked of every individual visiting campus. Let's continue to work together to prevent COVID on our campus and to protect the students and staff who attend school every day. Please practice these healthy behaviors or avoid visiting campus or sending your student to school.
