Please note:

Classroom assignments may become visible on Schoology or the Parent Portal prior to August 5; however, assignments may continue to shift throughout the summer and leading up to the first day of school as new families enroll at Community.

We also kindly remind families that, per school policy, classroom assignment changes are not made based on parent requests.

COMMUNITY HAS EXCITING SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES FOR EVERYONE!

  • All Community students are invited to attend a free summer enrichment camp with Kids 4 College.
  • Incoming kindergarten students can join us for a week of Kinder Camp
  • BSAP students are invited to participate in our free BSAP summer academic enrichment program.
  • Camp Invention, a paid program, is open to all students!

    There is still time to enroll for our instructional Summer School programs that will be offered to our students from June 22-July 20 including TK-7th grade programs, Dual Enrollment, Enrichment Camps, ESY and  senior high credit recovery and enrichment. For information about summer programs, please visit the website at lausd.org/summeroflearning. Or pick up a paper application at your school.

    Warner Elementary School will be hosting Summer School for Community Magnet students, however families can enroll their child(ren) at any site across LAUSD.

  Dear Community Families, Our school year is now officially underway! Here are a few activities your students will be participating in this week: Our  Beginning-of-Year Assessment   windows  open this week so your child will be taking diagnostic tests in reading (DIBELS for Gr. K-2 / iReady for Gr. 3-5) and math (iReady for all grade levels). Teachers will use these results to determine classroom small group instruction, after-school intervention groups, advanced math groups, and tutoring groups. As of last school year, LAUSD requires students to complete 30-45 minutes of iReady Personalized Learning per week. Your child's teacher may ask that some of these required minutes be completed at home.  We hold  Behavior Assemblies  during the first week of school.   School begins Thursday, August 14, 2025 Dear Community Families, Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Community Magnet Charter School! I hope your summer was filled with memorable experiences and quality time with loved ones. The break always seems to fly by, and I’m excited to launch into another purposeful and dynamic school year with all of you. My family and I had the opportunity to travel to Jamaica this summer—a beautiful trip that offered time to recharge and reflect. I returned feeling energized and ready for the year ahead.
